1. Understanding Dora SSR's Project Management Mechanism

Dora SSR engine manages game projects based on directory structures. In this system, any directory containing a file named init will automatically be recognized as the root directory of the game project. This init file could have extensions such as .yue, .lua, .ts, .tsx, .tl, or .wasm.

2. Identifying the Game Project Directory

When using Dora SSR's Web IDE for development, if you open any code file for preview or editing and execute the project run command, the IDE will automatically search upward from the directory of the currently opened file until it finds the root directory containing the init file. The game testing run will start from this init file.

3. Suggestions for Organizing Project Directories

To standardize your game project organization, it is suggested (but not mandatory) to organize your game project directory as follows:

  • Game Project Root Directory
    • Audio: For storing game audio resources.
    • Data: For static game data files such as Excel spreadsheets, script configuration tables, etc.
    • Font: For storing game font files.
    • Image: For storing game image resources.
    • Script: For storing script files, such as Lua, YueScript, Teal, or TS code.
    • Spine: For storing game animation resources.
    • init.yue | lua | tl | ts | tsx | wasm: The project startup file, chosen according to the scripting language used.

This structure is not only clear but also easy to manage and maintain.

4. Code Module Search Paths

When writing Lua, YueScript, or Teal code, if you need to import external modules, the Dora SSR engine runtime and Web IDE will search for code modules in the following order:

  1. "Game Project Root Directory"/Script
  2. "Game Project Root Directory"
  3. "Engine Built-in Resource Root Directory"/Script/Lib
  4. "Engine Built-in Resource Root Directory"/Script/Lib/Dora/en
  5. "Engine Built-in Resource Root Directory"

For path Number 3, ensure you are familiar with the use of Dora SSR’s supportive development libraries. Path Number 4 is mainly used for providing type definition files for various statically-typed scripting languages interfacing with the Dora SSR engine. Make sure your module's storage path complies with the above search logic for seamless project integration.
